Our Code of Ethics

Dr. Young and employees will be honest and ethical in all words, deeds and actions.

We will uphold quality of veterinary care and ongoing education to assure the most progressive and scientifically sound medical and surgical procedures, and humane patient care.

We will maintain and protect our veterinary practices’ reputation for honesty, fairness, respect, responsibility, integrity, trust and sound judgment.  Our practice’s ethical performance equates to the sum total of each and every employee’s ethical principles.

Our practice will not compromise its principles for short-term advantage.  We will adhere to a policy of zero tolerance for illegal or unethical conduct.

Dr. Young and employees of the company will never permit their personal interests to conflict, or appear to conflict, with the interests of practice, its patients, its clients or the veterinary profession’s ethical guidelines.

Dr. Young and the employees of our practice will often come into contact with, or have possession of, proprietary, confidential or practice-sensitive information and will take appropriate steps to assure that such information is strictly safeguarded.  This information, whether it is on behalf of our practice, or any of our clients or patients could include strategic business plans, operating results, marketing strategies, client lists, sensitive client information, patient records or personnel records.

Proprietary, confidential and sensitive information about this practice, employees, clients and patients, or other companies, individuals and entities will be treated with sensitivity and discretion and only be disseminated on a need-to-know basis.  This policy includes non-disclosure of such information to spouses, relatives and friends.

Dr. Young and employees will seek to report all information accurately and honestly, and as required by applicable laws, regulations and reporting requirements of governmental agencies and professional organizations.

Dr. Young and employees will avoid exaggerating or disparaging comparisons of the services and competence of competitors.

Dr. Young and employees will obey all Equal Employment Opportunity laws and act with respect and responsibility towards others in all of their dealings.

Dr. Young and employees will remain personally balanced so that their personal lives will not interfere with their abilities to deliver quality services to the practice and its clients.

No bribes, kickbacks or other similar remuneration or consideration shall be given to any person or organization in order to attract or influence practice activity.

Employees agree to disclose unethical, dishonest, fraudulent and illegal behavior, or the violation of practice policies and procedures, directly to Dr. Young.

Violation of this Code of Ethics will result in discipline, including possible termination.  The degree of discipline relates in part to whether there was a voluntary disclosure of any ethical violation and whether or not the violator cooperated in any subsequent investigation.
